About Landesa
"Rual Development Institute"

Founded, 2008.

Rural Development Institute (RDI) is a nonprofit organization working in India on the issue of land rights for the rural poor since 2008.

It is estimated that there are nearly 20 million landless rural families in India.

We work with the government to design and implement laws, policies and programs relating to land so that these landless poor have a valuable asset that they can use to come out of the cycle of poverty Registered in India as Rural Development Institute, we are known more commonly by our brand name “Landesa”.

We work in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Telangana to support governments to develop innovative and favourable policies and programs to address landlessness and extreme poverty. In the past seven years, Landesa has positively impacted half a million rural families in India through our various activities.
